M1 Garand vs M1A...one rifle

I have owned an M1 Garand and two M1A rifles, I prefer the M1A.

Yes it does, but I shoot rifles left handed. I can't find a good way to load a M1 with my left hand. M1a mags are a tight fit, still working on getting fast with it.

M1A for something I'm going to shoot a lot and just because of ammo availability/cost

I'd pick the M1A

Just to throw this out there (not reply directed at you)...there is something to be said of the ease of carrying loaded en blocs vs M14 mags. En blocs are darn near expendable and can be much easier carried on the body. An olangapo outfitter grab n go bag will hold 12 en blocs totaling 96 rounds plus 16 in a stock mag pouch and 8 loaded. Granted you will have to reload more but you can carry more rounds and not have to worry about policing empty mags.

I've only shot the Garand on 3 occasions but carried an M14 while on the reaction force & top-side watch on 2 different ships so I'll pick the M1A for familiarity.
