M855 panic has hit the ODT

This is so crazy, 10 days ago, I bought 600 rounds of XM88 AMMO for $175.00, off of ODT, from a good guy. now I see it going for $450,00 for 500 rounds. That's crazy. I now have 5,000 rounds of this AMMO, this AMMO is the same AMMO I use at the range. I don't understand the HYPE!!!

Not a bad idea. I've had 900+ rds sitting away in my safe for 8 months or so.

Never once thought to trade it for some Silver.

If i were you, rather than sell it, see if you cant trade the88 stuff you have for a bit more of regular 5.56

You could trade 500 rds of what you havefor600 or so rounds of similar 5.56

There are ways of coming ahead without being a douche. Thats what folks do with silver and gold, trade between them when price ratios align

XM855 is going for close to $.80/round on some auctions on Gunbroker. The psychology of panic buying is very interesting to me. The fear of a ban can have more of an impact than a ban itself. As for hating flippers, yeah I get it but this scenario is a little different. With .22 people buy any and all .22 they can find to flip. With this people are just buying and flipping XM855/SS109 and there are tons of other cheaper alternatives.
