This is the Choate extension on my Smith pump. I like the setup but this extension is threaded to match Smith threads. If I wanted to get threading done I'd just buy the Hi Standard long tube from Numrich How bout hose clamps?

Making a mag tube extension???

Do you have a dial caliper, to measure the tube? If not, Harbor freight has some, even digital.
No I don't. Hell I ain't even looked up metal and tubing warehouses yet. This may be yet another project I have to wait till I'm back in middle GA to get my supplies.
If you measure your tube, you'll know what size to get @ www.gunpartscorp.com ; their W/S may have specs.
I know the diameter is probably too big but during the night I thought about checking a buffer tube from an AR pistol.. It's my understanding that a commercial tube is smaller in diameter than a mile spec, right?
Damn! That's good Googling right there. Kinda steep though. Especially considering I only paid $100.00 for the gun.
It is cheaper to just get a surplus LEO Rem 870 with the extension already installed. Plus LOTS of aftermarket parts available for thr 870.
