Yep makes for a great aged wood look. The longer the wool sits in the vinegar, the more grey it will be. Here are samples and finished product on a range hood I built

I think the wood will have a mind of its own. Will prolly color the pieces different what ever I do Paint maybe the answer or just a clear sealer. Dont seem to have control of the stain.especially in a large amount. I am going to add some vinegar to the jug and see how it goes. Took a week for the wool to dissolve
