Marine Corps

thats odd they didn't catch that at the meps physical.. when he got sworn in.. did something happen between him getting his physical done and just before he left for boot?

ahh... I see. I had to do some googleing on hep a vs b vs c. I didn't know hepatitis was a disqualifier though.

Everything and anything is a disqualifier.....I met and talked to his Sr DI Saturday. He told me my son was a good kid. He helped motivated those who needed it and followed orders flawlessly...He told me when he pulled my son from class and told him he was being dropped all my son heard was drop so he did and waited for the command to start doing push ups.

with the sequester everyone is getting put out

to be honest i am not liking where our military is heading, it is becoming watered down and less about commitment and more about just a job

thats why im glad to be out. he sounds like a great guy and something even better will be out there for him

I was was in the top 85 percentile in my Officer Accessions Branching Model (What the Army gives you as your job) So I was lucking enough to get active duty, and my first choice. Others didn't pan so well out. This year the Active Duty cutoff was 75% and above. The remaining got forced into the Reserve or Guard Units to find across the country.

Sir,
As everyone has said, he and you should be proud. I am a retired Marine and unfortunately with the current administration and all the military cuts it doesn't take much for a person to be bumped out, even for minor reasons.
It sounds like he has made great strides in his health and mind. With this kind of ambition there is no reason for him to make his mark on this country. College is a one of the great places to do this. Georgia has all kinds of grants and loans available to the residents.
Tell him to walk proud! As far as when he'll come home most of the answers you received were almost spot on. I would think longer than 5 days though. Call his recruiter and he should be able to give and get you the best information.
God Bless GySgt USMC Retired
