Marine Corps

Get a degree have him go back in when he is done with Boot camp he can be an officer so thats not a bad thing to wait

Didn't think of that one.....

He isnt soured on the Corps just afraid to go back and have them say he's tested positive again.....he loved the training a nd loved drilling with the rifle. What he absolutely hated was sitting for nearly 3 weeks with no excersize ,,,no real outside contact and being stuck in a room with a boat load of guys that were being let go for disciplinary issues.....they were acting like babies....my son stayed respectful and hoped they might reverse their decision...

Tests all came back negative....my son was paid for his time while he was there but when he came home and checked his Navy Federal Credit Union Account the Govt. took his money and closed the account. Even the thought of him trying to get back in during this administration makes my skin crawl.

That's some crazy stuff right there.
I'm not implying there is but it just sounds like there is more to this whole story.
Best of luck to your son.

You know.... I thought the same thing.....when I had my Physical last week I talked to the nurse. She said they use a very generic test. It picks up the Antibodies your body creates after the Vaccine. Some have it stronger than others..In this time of Military downsizing they will take the slightest hiccup and put you out...My son has honestly only had one cold in his entire 18 years of living....a sniffle here and there but nothing to ever put him on his ass. The Recruiters have already contacted my son and want him back in.... I said no this time...He will enter School this summer and start his Computer Programming classes and hopefully intern at the Geek Squad starting next week. It's his real love.

My son is still in touch with the young man that was put out for severe sunburn on his neck.....I personally talked with his parents and they are just as stunned as we are. It's crazy days my friends.(they took his money and closed his account too)

Glad things are working our for your son.My grandaughters boyfriend left 2 weeks ago for Parris Island. They just got the generic letter that gave his address. I am really concerned about him going in the Corps as they are so hard and always looking to kick people out.

This should make you feel better.....My son said it was not a big deal....do what you are told....everyone pulls together to help each other out....he will be fine..Good luck to him.

I stood in the yellow footprints in 1965 at 17 years old when they really did beat the heck out of you..I lived thru it and many dangerous things in my life because of it.
If they had to slap my eyes crossed, it was to get my undivided attention so that I would learn something that would and has saved my life on more than one occasion and it made me tough enough not to lay down and quit because life got hard.

This country would be a lot better off, if more young people went thru some serious instruction and OJT about life and responsibility and the fact that the world owes them nothing and does not revolve around them and that the consequences of their actions or failure to act always effects the people around them in one way or another.

Barring unexpected medical events , he will do fine as long as he is determined and does not "quit".

The USMC is not always looking to kick people out, the quickly identify and cull those that they do not believe can successfully complete the transition into marines for what ever reason.
Medicals happen..not really anyone's fault ....bad attitudes, quitters, and disciplinary problems are another issue, are undesirable and quickly weeded out.
Time will not be spent with undesirables, there are many waiting to join and a DI's time must be spent teaching those who "want" to be there and are willing to adapt and learn for if the day comes and they must go into battle, they must be able to depend on each other and trust their very lives to the marine alongside them...that's why they do the best they can to sort out the keepers and get rid of the problems..In the long term, it is about potentially saving lives.
