Scope or No?

Another vote for a low power, low mounted, small objective (32mm, 2-4x is about perfect) scope. Keeps the weight low and doesn't mess too much with the ability to acquire your target while improving your chances @ shot placement. If you feel strongly, use quick detach rings so you can pop it off and shoot the irons if the mood strikes you.

I use mine as a 150 yard or less gun. Deep cover and heavy brush its great. I voted no glass, but thats just my opinion. Its all about your needs. Good Luck..

Ive always scoped my .30.30's.Have a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 on mine now. Nowadays its due to my old eyes lol I just like having optics, have them on all my rifles.....even my .22

marlin makes a very accurate levergun. with iron sights you can hit a pie plate consistantly at 100 yards. with good glass, you can hit your bullet holes.

I have an old weaver 2-7x scope on my standard length 336 and my 16" barreled one is open sights....just something feels good about hunting open sights
