Marlin 30-30...To scope or not to scope?

Scope or No?

I voted no scope. I am an ardent fan of appeture sights!

If you wanted to dedicate your 336 to a bench 30-30 for cast bullets or the like OR you could not focus on the front sight, then a low mounted low fixed power scope in the 2-3 power range would make sense.

I talked a young gun owner into the Skinner sight for his .45-70 Marlin and he's SOLD on "peeps"!!! He wanted to retain the factory rear sight and I really chastisied him for that one. Now he's glad he listened to me ............ because he's got precision and speed all rolled into one package. Fit's a conventional scabbard too!
