Marlin 917v factory trigger, at home fix

I took the spring out of my Marlin 917V factory trigger and replaced it with one a lot lighter,then filed down the sear pin I dont have a trigger weight gauge but its a lot better. Didnt take much being that was an awful trigger to start with. Im still gonna put in a new trigger but i just wanted to see if I could make that one any better. Anyone else tried this with this gun I just wanted to know if anybody else had any luck?
