One of you boomer fudds tell me what this is.

All I've got is the barreled receiver and the only identifying stamps are this

A large R underside of the barrel just in front of the receiver

A star just beneath the rear sight leaf

Serial number on barrel and receiver

Other stampings

The gas port/vent on the side of the receiver in front of the serial number suggests it's Spanish.

Probably started life as a M93 also known as 1893. These were updated to the 1916.
