so you did not declare what was in the box I bet. Yep, only a FFL holder can ship a handgun, and a lower is a handgun. If you did not declare it hopefully you did not put your return address on the box. Look for the black cars to come calling..

I shipped off a Glock lower to have some work done by a Smith. I thought I could legally ship it to a gunsmith. That being said, I shipped USPS. I was just told by a buddy that it is illegal. I started looking online, and I'm still unsure. It looks like it's against USPS policy, but not necessarily illegal as long as I'm shipping to a license holder or gunsmith. Any feedback? Do you think they will even find it since its plastic? I think I shipped off a revolver to Smith and Wesson a long time ago USPS and it was ok
I had a guy mail me some ammo through USPS. I doubt they will ever know

If you didnt declare what it was, and even if you did, it will likely get there.

If you had used a contract carrier (UPS, FEDEX, etc) and shipped it to an FFL, you would have been fine.

I shipped Dad a MK II for his birthday a few years ago... and shipped it USPS. But I went to my local FFL and he filled out a form for the USPS and rubber stamped a signature on it, and it was good to go. Of course it was going to his FFL.

Unless you are talking about USPS regulations you are wrong. Anyone can mail a gun.Doesn't even have to be to an FFL if you know for sure the person it is going to, and that person is legaly allowed to own said firearm. However you are responsible as to who ends up receiving said firearm, so for CYA I would use an FFL to receive the gun.Sometimes people just need to call the ATF in Atlanta to have questions answered. Believe it or not they have always been very friendly and helpful.
