I have begun shooting ARA and Ir 50/50 in benchrest competition to enhance my longrange capabilities as well as further helping my hunting skills with a .22 rifle.I realize this will not appeal to some here but bear with me.In traditional long range shooting you have to account for trajectory and wind issues.Nothing is more apparent than doing this with a .22 rifle.I shoot benchrest as well as Sillouette at 100 yards and have found both have improved my shooting skills at longer ranges with a larger bore rifle.
We have sevral matchs here in Ga on a weekly basis as well as some just across the line in other states as well as national championships in both indoor and outdoor ranges. You might consider trying it.All you need to do is grab a decent shooting .22 rifle and good ammo a rest and show up and learn the rules as I did.You will not find a nicer group of folks willing to help you with there time to learn this sport and it WILL help you in your larger bore rifle skills.
