I've heard criticisms of Kalashnikov all my life. Only from Americans though. Only. Ever. :)

Mean time, I just keep shootin.

If I only had one gun, and my way of life depended on it as it does for these pirates, I would atleast try and take care of it some. The bottom one is more worn, but that top one...... I don't care what mud hut I lived in screwing my sisters and daughters and cousins, I would still take care of my darn rifle.

LMAO hey hey didn't mean to ruffle feathers I did a search on Taurus 357mags and this pop'ed and caught my eye and I really didn't check the pulse I just knew I had some of all a i's not a gun snob lol some people thou I understand have delicate feathers he he he ive owned bout all of'em and decided ya know when people are talken about jamming, stoves, miss feeding and other malf. they never blame the ammo it's always the Taurus that's a bad bad bad bad gun truth is ive had more disappointments from the glock than the Taurus could be the less money so you expect less...on the glock the other way but the thing is ive had ammo problems as well

But then again, you'd probably have a stock on your rifle so you could shoulder it. The bottom one with the Chicom grip is stockless, and I'd be surprised if the other with a UF would open without some working it.

Note that you don't see eastern block AK's looking like that. heck, even the homemade Paki ones look better

Haven't read through the full 13 pages, but did read the first couple to get a gist of what is going on. I am not a gun snob, but do prefer guns with high reliability rates/reviews, and more importantly, higher return values if I have ever have to justify my collection to others (ahem...wife).

However, a gun is a tool and when needed, will make a bad situation better. Look at it this way, would you take your car to be fixed at an auto shop where the mechanic had all bargain tools- say he bought all of his hand tools at Northern Tool or Lowes or Home Depot? Or would you feel more confident of a mechanic that bought the higher priced, but proven quality and awesome serviceability, tools made by Snap On, Mac, or Matco?

Fixing cars are their profession, and any down time due to broken tools or other reason means money- pure and simple. Snap On, Mac, or Matco, are better made tools, but do break- however when they do break, there is a tool truck at the dealership parking lot ready to replace it, without having the mechanic run to Northern Tool or Lowes, or what other department store on their lunch hour trying to replace a broken tool.

To a simple homeowner or apartment dweller, a $2.49 13mm chinese wrench will work just as good as a $38.50 13mm Snap On wrench. However, if I had to wrench away to save my life in any particular situation, I would feel more confident using a Snap On wrench vs. a cheaply made wrench.
