I started traveling to Calf. in the 70s, it was a great place. But there were crazy people there then. It's gotten so much worse since then

Got untenable when the crazy people were put in charge. San Diego was a great place to grow up until about the 80's. After that it began a rapid descent into the fetid and festering socialist cess pit it is today.

"Legal" gun owners in California are a lot like gun owners in other states. Lived in SF for three years. The gang bangas and criminals are also a lot like criminals in other states. They don't give a rat's ass about laws. I never did either. Never registered my firearms with the Cal. DOJ and never intended to. A whole slate of new laws are being passed by NY and CA right now (press conferences yesterday) that will make "compliance" damned near impossible and turn a lot of regular folks into felons. Won't do a damned thing to stop crime and the politicians are well aware, it's not about that anyway. It's about further control over people.

If my friends in Cali need anything not available there, they'd let me know. I have installed "compliance" devices on firearms for local dealers that were shipping them to California.

Yeah, and SD is by far one of, if not the most, "red" major cities on the west coast. Not saying that they are anything but blue, but they are a helliva lot more moderate than any other major city out there.

Most of California is a great place to be. Highly agricultural state. In those areas people seemed nice and everyone was pleasant. Associating all of California to San Francisco and Los Angeles is the same associating Atlanta people to Pickens County people. The bad apples spill the bunch
