I don't know if you know this. So I'll say it just to educate those who aren't aware. A buddy who is an older machinist explained to me that he isn't ATF registered and cannot touch a gun without committing a crime. Any machinist worth his salt can make damn near anything.
In his words. Take the motherf--cker apart and bring me just the broken part you want fixed or replaced. "To me it's just a piece of metal. The minute you use the word gun. I can't touch it, and you need to take it, and get the F-- out of my shop".
The bit of metal pipe or tube may have rifling, but do everybody a favor and avoid all verbiage that refers to gun parts when you do business with machine shops.
