Most of the murder rate in Mexico is due to the Drug war. If you really want to know what is going on there read, Chasing the Scream by Johann Hari. The best book that I have read this year, and possibly the best in the last ten years.

I think one of the most racist things I hear in the US is how leftists so frequently compare the US to Scandinavian countries. Pretty sure we have more in common with Brazil than we do with Sweden. Any comparison with Mexico will get glossed over because we can only be safely compared to countries demographically similar to New England. I don't know why.

They better watch out. I know a few legal Messican fellers that work for Cherokee Co. They ain't real keen on illegal immigration or giving handouts (tax dollars) to socialist pet projects. As a matter of fact, they like to shoot steel plates and clay pigeons and drink beer while they slap their wife on the ass while they watch football on the weekends.
