Mid-life career change... What would you change to?

I'm just curious. I've lost my passion for my field and have grown to resent it. Looking to hit the reset button. I won't set limitations on suggestions so that someone else may benefit who is not in my exact shoes.

Going back to school is ok to achieve the goal.
I've thought about this many times before, and I think I'd really enjoy being a carpenter. Making stuff with you hands where you can see the finished product.

I would like to be a technician solving problems with my hands or refinishing antique furniture. Neither pay well enough for me to do that so I'll keep plugging away polishing a seat with my ass using my brain and getting paid a lot more.

I enjoy being a field engineer. You rarely work the same job twice, work with different people, every job is a new challenge. My avatar picture is me in Iraq in 2009, setting up internet cafes for the troops. Now I do software installation. I could retire, but why do that when you enjoy what you do and make good money?

If you really want to change careers and move then apply to the Apprenticeship program on the base in Kings Bay GA. They will pay you while you go (starts at $15hr) and teach you what you need to know. 4yr program and then get hired full time Civil Service. All types of jobs from Nuclear Welder to NDT Inspector.
