The 1911A1 design has been tried and tested for generations, you'd have to purposely mess one up in manufacturing for it not to work. I'm appreciative of the "off brand" manufacturers keeping this gun alive and affordable for the working man.

MAC 1911 JSOCIs there a 5” model with the front strap checkered and no rail?
It’s like Ford Chevy Dodge Toyota Volkswagen you take your chance with all of them or any given Sunday. They can all be a POS.I do not want nothing to do with a 320 dollar gun. I did a Tisas once and it turned out pretty darn good but it was a higher grade model..
Just put another 170 rounds down range, 150 FMJ 230 grain and 20 rounds 230 JHP. Had one round in the middle of the mag fail to fully feed, tapped the slide and it fed. It was a craptistic Sarco no name GI mag, took it out of the rotation and no more problems.
First time around I shot steel only from 50 to 15 yards. This time I shot some steel and a SQT-A1 target from 50 & 25 (all the torso shots), 15 (head shots) and 7 (the little man). The large torso is 16 inches wide at the shoulders & 25 inches tall. The little man is 2 inches x 3 1/4.

The gun is wearing in fine. I disassembled it to clean it for the first time. I was surprised to find the extractor has been radiused at the factory, pretty nice touch. I tried to get a picture of it but my phone camera-fu ain’t that good. Here she is after cleaning, wearing nicely.

Contrary to the wisdom of the Hive I am going to carry this gun. That’s why I bought it. Probably will carry it this weekend in this Bianchi 84 working around the house, it’s rattlesnake season up here on Lavender Mountain.

I have a nice TTGunLeather rig for towning around. Anyway turns out this was really $430 well spent.
So you don't do striker fired guns at all? Because those are all single action.I know 1911's been around and reliable forever, but I just can't carry anything single action, and I wouldn't carry a 1911 cocked and locked. Just me I guess
No, I'm strictly DA/SA like the old Smith's are.So you don't do striker fired guns at all? Because those are all single action.
There's a reason it's called cocked and LOCKED.I know 1911's been around and reliable forever, but I just can't carry anything single action, and I wouldn't carry a 1911 cocked and locked. Just me I guess
Yep. Just you.I know 1911's been around and reliable forever, but I just can't carry anything single action, and I wouldn't carry a 1911 cocked and locked. Just me I guess
