Military Attempts Coup in Turkey, Prime Minister Says

**** the Turkey's government. The turks have done little to stop ISIS, they could have saved 10,000's lives. Instead they sit back and do nothing. One day it will be the US and Russia vs Islam

Does anybody know if Incirlik Air Base is a U.S. Air Force base or a Turkish Air Force base that they allow us to us for our planes? I foresee this being a possible issue.

We built it decades ago and have a joint agreement with the Turks. A few other nations have access to it as well.

We're not losing access to it. If the Coup leader(s) tried, well, they might commit "suicide" or find themselves dealing with a coup themselves. Look at Morsi in Egypt. He didn't play ball so he got thrown out.

Thanks for the info. Im trying to figure out what is happening and what it means for us.

From what I've read, parts of the Army are leading the coup. The Air Force is loyal to the current President. Some reports of ground forces firing on airplanes. National Police is comprised of Erdogan cronies and might be involved in skirmishes with the military. Military has seized State Television, which is something most nations have that we really don't. I mean, we have PBS, but it's not a major broadcaster as State News is in many other countries. Would be like the US Military seizing CNN or Fox News.

Well they will have a long drive. Fox is reporting he is in Germany. Conveniently, in Germany.

Unless I misheard, the Senior Advisor to the President CNN just interviewed stated that Erdogan was in Istanbul or was heading there. He was hard to understand.
