Found this old Milsurp laying around. Seems to be in pretty good shape for her age. I think these were used in-between WWII and Vietnam so probably didn't see much action.

I actually do like it! What are the specs? Weight?
Been wanting to build one of these so I started my search for a fixed carry handle upper and @chewokee hooked me up with a Colt A2. Then I found a good deal on the Colt hbar barrel and fsb on GunBroker. Next I need a lower and since the whole upper was now Colt figured I shouldn't mix it up, Nobody had a used Colt lower they wanted to let go though so I had to buy a new one from JSE.

Put a WMD nickel boron BCG in her cause I wasn't paying $200 for a Colt BCG. Trigger is a BCM PNT (polished nickel Teflon) which is pretty nice for a mil-spec trigger. All metal parts were Cerakoted in Elite series Midnight. Last but not least the furniture came from Boyd's gun stocks. As far as weight goes she as heavy as your typical milsurp Rifle

Have you shot it yet?? There's not any real kick with a normal AR, but I bet that weight really eats a lot of that up. Also, does the wood get rid of that damned "doink" sound from the buffer spring? I had a magpul UBR stock a while back that was on the heavy side, but I could not hear that spring.
