Model 53 (chinese mosin)
I am working on refinishing a stock, well let's call it restoration for the rifle above.

The Chinese used this extremely soft wood called Yew. I was able to raise most of the dents that did not break the grain of the wood I know she's no beauty queen but it's quite an improvement!

You got your work cut out for you with a Type 53 stock. I've seen so everyone on GunBroker that were so rough you could just barely tell what they were. But it looks to be coming right along.
