This is not a reproduction. I bought it at least a year before they started making the repros. Got it from Copes dist.. I'm pretty sure they ripped me off on the base mount. It seems to be aluminum. I'm not sure if that is normal. I thought they were steel.

OP, all of the mounts were milled steel, and you can almost always see the pattern in there where they were cut. Could you please share a pic of one of the knobs and the arsenal logo? Those are the things that will determine value.

I rest my case.

Works like a charm...

That's a curious one.....I'm concerned that the knobs and screws might be after-market. The tube of the scope looks ok, but the rearsenal stamp seems very unique. I know that Copes sold "genuine Russian" scopes for a while that were actually copies built somewhere in Russia after the war that may contain a few surplus parts.

I can't tell for sure without seeing her in person. Value if authentic is around 125-175 for scope only; 30-50 if reproduction. Aluminum mounts tend to loisen up under the recoil but the do look nice.

Another test is to look through it while you're adjusting the knobs.....the reticule should move and become off center. If it doesn't move it's absolutely a copy.

This may help:
