Tonight at practice, one of my kids broke the forend on his Mossberg. Still not sure how it happened. He will attempt to qualify for State next weekend in Blairsville with an unfamiliar shotgun if we can't get a replacement. What he has is a 12 gauge with synthetic stock, although I'm sure wood will work. If any of my ODT Brothers and Sisters has one laying around, please shoot me a PM with price.
Thanks in advance,
Dean

Mossberg 500, not the less expensive Maverick 88? The Maverick has pinned rails, the two do not interchange.

This is a 500.

I have a wood fore grip you can have. In fact I have the stock too. But I'm thinking it's from an 870 youth model. But it's just the kind that slides over the metal tube and is held in place by the big threaded ring. I'll get some pics in a few.

It's actually a Maverick 88 according to his dad. My info was that they would interchange.
Thanks all.
I don't think they will. Never owned a Maverick but from what I know one of the differences is that the fore arm is pinned or riveted to the metal tube or action bars. So if that is the case then you would need the entire assembly. Grip, tube and dual action bars. You could most likelly get it from Numrich but not in a hurry.

I know there are other sources out there, but was hoping I/WE could get something from the ODT brotherhood. I'll investigate a little deeper. Thanks brother.

The 2 are interchangeable, as long as you’re swapping the action arms with the forearm. I have one in my shop that’s doing nothing. You’re welcome to it if you don’t mind coming to me to get it.
