Moving Threads to Sections that require permission to access

Which limits the overall ODT experience for members that choose to stay out of the politics section. Not ideal for some of us.

I get why they do it, and I get why some topics need to be moved. Some members are just jerks and have to spread their crap on everything they touch. Mods don't feel they can deal with that or they don't really care to because it makes them look like total jerks. Well, sometimes it takes a jerk to moderate a jerk.

I just feel that if they decided to do their jobs then they could let us "normals" participate too.
If you have issues with certain members block them. There are some members who continually post semi-pornagraphic posts that I don’t care to see. So I block them and don’t see them. Doesn’t restrict their right to post under the rules, which I wouldn’t do, but allows me to see only the content I want without restricting either them or me.

Threads get moved where they belong, regardless of who started them and why they started them where they did.

Threads relating to politics or any other heated topics get moved to the Boiler Room. Period.

TresMonos TresMonos I'm still puzzled why my "car on fire" got classified as a "hot topic" and moved to the "boiler room":doh::doh:
Everybody knows it wasn't boiled but car-b-q'd. :)

Hey Mods.....here's a thought.....

Some of us do not WANT access to the sections that require permission. I used to have access to the political section but I found it to be full of people that just want to mock and denegrate and absent of true productive political discourse. So I left....

Now, when some items of interest that members NOT subscribed to those forums may genuinely wish to read about and perhaps comment on, you guys are quick to merge the threads in the non subscribed sections with the threads in the subscribed sections.

Won't someone PLEASE think of us normals???? We post a genuinely interesting and relevant news article and off it goes to a subscription based limited access area and we normals wind up only seeing....

Putting something where it belongs per the criteria laid out by the guy that owns the site doesn't equal someone not doing their job solely because you choose not participate in the forum where said thread belongs.

I can honestly say though that's the first time someone's ever criticized a mod for not being a jerk. Thats a new one.

Bet you won't move this thread!

If there's anyone that could derail it to the point it needed moved, I have no doubts you'd be the one :boink:

Yes, with the understanding that a news link thread can very well get heated to the point that it ends up needing to go to the boiler room.

I don't think the threads gets moved due to content most of the time. They get moved due to subject matter. Politics and religion are a no brainer... Boiler Room.

Why is it such a problem for you to just not open a thread you have no interest in?
