Have a '97 F-150. 4.6 V8

Has dual mufflers from the cat back.

When I bought seller told me they are Cherry Bombs. Don't know if they are actually that brand or that's generic term.

They are not God awful loud, just loud, and I thing probably a little worn out.

What are good mufflers with less "presence. I enjoyed the rumble when I first got it, but it gets a little tiresome on anything over about 5 miles. Especially when you are towing something, more low gear, slower speeds.

And who would you recommend to put them on, in the Athens area?

I've had Flow Masters on my 1995 F150 for over 10 years - nice throaty resonance but quiet in the interior. I think I may have the 50 series.

You need to pick the correct flow masters to suit you. I think it's the 40 series that will give you a nice low throaty sound without being obnoxious. Search on YouTube and you can probably find out what it will sound like.

Another vote for magna flows, have it on my truck. Not too loud and obnoxious but still sounds like a truck should but then again I have it coming out the side in front of my tire and not the back.
