I got the free mulch from a tree company a few years ago... I killed poison ivy growing from it for two years strait. Commercial for us from the on.

Raw Wood chips bring on the termites and right next to your house ...I did this once it was a bad move

we use the municipal pile from Dekalb. Been amending the garden with it for a few years now and no issues at all.

Cypress mulch is best for around the house. Does not attract bugs like pine and other bark.
