I got about 30-40# of scuppernongs and muscadines picked and ready to roll. I got three and a half jars of jelly made from the first batch, It barely even knocked a dent in the barrel full that I picked. I’ll probably end up with 16-18 jars of jelly at this rate.

reckon you could zipbag some'a that smell in your house right now and mail it to me? haha . hey that would make some killer candles

Those are big muscadine! I told a neighbor recently, Mama used to make hull preserves - they were fantastic on hot buttered biscuits.
I need to cultivate mine next year.
I bag the hulls and put them out for the deer most of the time. I can save them and bring them to you if you want them for hull preserves.
Maybe I should try making them??

The whole house smells like them right now. It’s crazy.

You must not have any deer around. They got most of mine. Had a couple of quarts left off my new vines.
Love muscadine jelly.

I have a friend who has several hundred linear feet of vines. He lets me come over and pick what I need every year.
I’m actually following my late Grandmother’s recipe. She’s been gone for several years now. She used to come over every Fall and make some out of the 5 gallon bucket full that I would go collect from the woods each year. My Son loves the Scuppernong jelly in particular, so I have to make a year’s worth just for him. The rest is for myself, family and friends.
I’ll be passing this recipe on to my kids.
