Must a Rifle sale (M1) to out of state buyer go thru a FFL?

I think I understand that a rifle sale to a out of state buyer go thru a FFL in the sellers state. Is this correct?

unless its C&R this would be correct. you can mail it from anywhere but it will have to go to an FFL and be transferred. In state and then no FFL is needed for rifles.

CMP doesn't use in state FFL, they send right to your house.

As is mentioned if buyer is C and R licensed he can buy. Otherwise yes FFL
