My 1st and last ND Very nasty pics. I get to go back to work

We appreciate the updates, but definitely get some rest. Prop that hand up!
On another note, maybe you could wrap up that middle finger and send it to someone in your avatar?:usa2:

That's a great idea. They wouldn't let me keep my finger. They showed it to me then stuck it in a medical waste bucket. I really wanted to keep it but it well

IMG_20130413_244856_847.jpgI've had my moment as well. Cleaning my first handgun. I had been sick that day and took a bunch of cold medicine. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to clean my gun...... needless to say, I didn't drop the mag OR clear the chamber. Went to take the slide off but it didnt release to i pulled to trigger to release it and bang. I just sat there like WTF just happened, all the medicine I was on just added to the confusion. Luckily I did have the gun pointing a safe direction so nobody was hurt. But I do have a nice hole in my bed and had a hole in the wall as well. I ended up finding that casing, drilling a hole in it, put in on a piece of paracord and melted the ends together around my ankle small enough that I couldn't take it off. It's uncomfortable as hell in my boots but every time it annoys me I just think well that's the least of your problems. The annoyance serves as a good reminder to be safe. Hope you make a speedy recovery man. I cant imagine how much that hurt.

Burn it burns so fing bad. It shattered every bone in my hand. My middle finger was toast. It was hanging by some skin. The best way I can try and describe it is this. The funny tingle feeling you get when you arm or foot falls asleep X 100000000000 then grab a molten hot chunk of steal and zip tie it to your hand. And the burn is the most odd feeling I have ever felt. Now after the surgery it's numb. But I know when the nerve block wears off this ain't gonna be fun. When it first happened they gave me 4 doses of fentinal (spelling is wrong I'm sure) and it didn't even take the edge off.

I know that EXACT feeling you are describing when I had my ND through my left pointer finger. .45 ACP Speer gold dot. It is not a good feeling at all.

get ready for ghost finger for the next 6-8 months

lucky if it'll just be ghost finger. knew a guy in h.s. that ran his arm through a blade. he still has ghost limb to this day

Hell, it might have been the surgery, but I no longer have ghost finger anymore. My incident happened in Dec 2010. Everyone is different of course, but those first few months it was freaky.

you have made it to the Colorado Boards courtesy of Guns save lives

Don't feel bad brother. I know that the ignorance of the people who talk **** about a person who they don't know is a cover for there own short comings. The sad part is that there probably ten times more likely to have the same thing happen to them. Yet they are to damn ignorant to see the fact that this happens every day to even the most experienced. It only takes a laps of judgment or lack of respect for the firearm. Then you wind up in my shoes or worse. I'm lucky. This could have been far far worse. I have not taken pain medication during the day for two days. I take one at night to knock me out but that's it. I'm lucky. I have talked to a guy that still lives with the pain and suffering. I am not 100 percent but I'm far better off than some of the people I have talked to. I never thought that this was as common as it is. Most people are to embarrassed to talk about it. I'd rather share my humiliating story to make sure it's not repeated. Please stay safe and God bless you all. I have had an overwhelming amount of support and encouragement from all of you. The odt is truly a band of brothers. I'm very happy to be a part of this awesome community
