My $9000 grant from the US Federal gov't that I won, and don't have to pay back

4th call today on the landline. Broken English, representing the U.S. Federal government.

The U.S. Federal government had a drawing for grants that don't have to be paid back, and I won $9000.

Why $9000? Are they trying to get under the money laundering limit of $10K. Why not $20,000 or $50,000? Why only $9000.


I listen to the gibberish for a bit until they get to the part about how do I want to get my money. I tell them 90 brand new $100 bills delivered to my door. That's when the conversation sort of jumps the tracks.

They do this on social media also. Someone hacked a friend's FB account and was pinging people with the same crap.

I answer and offer them deals with better financing and try to sell them insurance for their homes and cars.

9 times out of 10 it results in a broken English threatening international incident....and I love every second of it. Extra fun with a buzz

I started screaming into the phone as loud as I can. LOL! I was screaming into the phone when the mail lady was delivering a package and my mail to my back door. I opened it up and she was about half way back to her truck, running and looking over her shoulder! LOL, the poor girl.....

I had to run out and explain what I was doing but from the look on her face? She wasn't having it. LOL!

I think I'll switch to one of the these now....

But still, what's magic about $9000?

Does that number trigger some subliminal response that $20,000 doesn't.
