Water drainage hole, added rocks and sand to help with any heavy downpours from pooling up in the pit.

Hard marble rocks to add a solid base under the paver sand.

Add a good layer of paver sand, tap it down flat, then add a top loose sand layer to set the stones on, the loose paver sand helps to level out the blocks, use a rubber mallet, this part needs to be right since the round fire pit will grow upwards reveling how level you really were.

The paver set sand is like a light adhesive sand but not a heavy notary at all, it still can be moved with some light persuasion, fill in the cracks, edges, sweep off excess on top, lightly spray water til all sand is saturated and it harderns up, but not really, it's still like a wet sand that stays saturated wet, giving it a little more time to cure to see how sticky it gets after sitting. It will be a square base with a round fire pit.
