It can happen at any age. I went 45 years with no problem usually getting stung at least once a year sometimes more. One day while cuting the grass got hit by a yellowjacket on the finger. Within 24hrs my whole hand and arm swelled up like Popeye. The skin stretching hurts like hell.

august 09 i got hit by a swarm of jackets
dont remember much except waking up in the hospital.
wife said they paddled my heart twice to get it going again.
i keep 2 epi pens and a bottle of benadryl handi not that it would do much good.
the next one your girlfiend has may not do anything or it may kill her within minutes.
