Just making the comment that he was VP back then under Ike. This is still 16 years before he became president. Nothing that you don't already know I just thought it was neat.

A couple of more details. My father remembers him saying he was in the yeongduengpo district for some time. Also, he was 21 when he was over there.

Great images. Thanks for posting these. Not only forgotten veterans, but an almost completely untaught portion of history. It should be studied more, IMO, because of the apples to apples real world evidence of the negative difference a communistic regime can make people's daily existence in less than 70 years. I also hope young South Koreans appreciate the difference those men made in their lives.
