I picked up a Ruger SR22 pistol yesterday. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I;m sure it'll be fun! Anyone else have any experience with them?

The things sold like hotcakes which is funny because not many odters that bought them were fans of the sr series pistols lol, but from what I hear they're excellent pistols. They're made by the company that practically wrote the book on 22 pistols so I'm willing to bet its top notch performance.

That's my hope. I wanted something cheaper to shoot then my Polish Wanad... It's much easier to enjoy shooting when its inexpensive!
I don't own one but several odters have gotten them, my only knock on them though is that I would have spent less coin and went after one of their target pistols, which I'm VERY fond of, although a pain in the ass to take apart lol. Since it's brand new I'll go ahead and tell you this much. BUy about 2-300 rounds of cci minis or stingers and break it in, every few hundred rounds clean it well. You can try bulk ammo and I've found winchester white box 333/555 to be fairly consistent as wail as high velocity. It performs in guns federal auto match wouldn't.

its on my "buy" list. I have tested it out vs the Sig Mosquito and the SR22 beats it. but funny thing is, it is louder than any other .22 I have shot

I like what I'm hearing. I'm familiar with the break in process as I've read similar things about this particular gun plus broken in a couple other 22s though they where rifles. I'll be sure to let ya'll know how it goes at the range and maybe even do a more complete write up/review.

Tacticool blowbacks have to work harder vs semiautomatic rifles and target pistols, more mass to push back as well as fighting the mainspring to cock the hammer and stiff recoil spring, which tends to make them biased towards high velocity ammo (like cci ) which is why the mosquito is a jamomatic with bulk. I figure ruger will produce a higher quality pistol though.
