Yeah it ain't like it was in the 70s and 80s. Back then after 100K you were just expecting a major failure at any minute. Especially with American cars. In fact when I got into the car badness in 94 most banks and lenders wouldn't finance vehicle's with 100K or more. Toyota was the first brand I remember that the banks would finance with 100K or more showing.

I look forward to tripping 300,000 in the 4Runner but at the one year mark, I may only turn 15,000.

It's all about regular maintenance. I had a 97 Ram 1500 that had 240,000+ miles when I sold it after 19 years of ownership. Never had any transmission problems.
