My yard dwelling wildlife is getting shot.

YOU don’t own the rodents. They will come and go as they please. And when the rest of your neighbors shoot them as the drift off the few feet they are on now, they will die anyway.

These are invasive, destructive, nuisance rodents that breed at a rate where they will never be in danger of extinction.

I understand the extinction part. Those animals are on my property and aren't hurting one thing. How you would you feel if someone came over to your property and just blasted a deer or bear just for sh**s and giggles and just left it there? Yeah they are different animals but they are getting blasted when there is no threat or benefit to the shooter.

Let's say you weren't so gung ho about firearms, shooting animals and loved your wildlife around your house to enjoy in spring morning mornings and evenings. The weather here is perfect for that right now. There also was a guy that lived across the street about four houses down that just skulked around when nobody was watching and systematically engaged every form of wildlife on your property. This guy is not a direct neighbor. He is many houses down but just lives in the general area. He has to cross my street to get to where he is doing his licence free trapping and hunting. He also shooting and trapping animals on my property. Killing wildlife on my property while I am inside the house. He is using older condemned houses yards to hunt in and make his way over by. He is out walking around all hours of the day and just leisure hunting when he feels like it. I have a problem with that even if is just a squirrel.

I really don't give a hoot what he does on his property but when he invades my space and does what he wishes, that I have a problem with! I don't have a love affair with those animals but if they are not hurting anything then leave them be. They are only digging for grubs or whatever just little small places that get filled in when the mower goes over them. When they leave they disappear in the kudzu. They are visiting my property and no one lives close enough to me in the back of my house for it to be a concern to them. Just a massive kudzu patch and trees.

I guess my main gripe is someone hunting and trapping in my property without permission. In fact he was even asked to refrain from doing it. LACK OF RESPECT FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S PROPERTY IS THE REASON WHY SO MANY PROPERTY OWNERS WON'T LET PEOPLE ON THEIR LAND. They can't trust the people going on their land and doing exactly what they don't want done. This has been an issue that we've heard many times and it all goes back to that one thing. Respect for you and your property!

I don't want to call the game warden because he's going to get my caller ID off of that and run his big mouth in front of the guy when he goes to confront him. I guess I'm going to have to drive into Lynchburg and make the call from a public phone to remain anonymous.

If he wasn't doing what he is doing they whistle pigs will eventually get to your foundations. You should be thankful he is doing you a favor. As a person who has trapped since a child and ran a nuisance wildlife business, I can tell you from first hand experience I can promise you this will be your problem soon without your neighbors help. In fact you should welcome him onto your place and offer to help him. Yeah they are cute and cuddly looking, but remember they are rodents. Rodents that will destroy the foundation of your home, garage or shed. Know a blessing when you have it. yes they have a place, but when we move into their home the problems begin. Ask yourself, would be concerned if he were running around to find and kill every copper head in the neighborhood? Just my opinion based my personal experience with the damage these cute critters will do to your property. Plant some tomato plants and your opinion will change once they find them.

If it were me I’d be more mad about the shooting around my house or the other homes. Is this guy a sniper (trained) or a bubba that says “hold my beer and watch this “. What caliber weapon is he using? .22 bullets can go a long way and he is probably walking and shooting level to the ground. VERY dangerous. This would be my only issue.

I have a cinder block 4 sided wall. They have had since 1906 to borrow under it and haven't. There is no benefit to it since they would end up in my cellar. It's a walk in cellar my Grandmother used to call a rood cellar. She kept her canned and jared jellies and veggies in. There are no diggs under the wall and nothing but snakes get in there. If they become a problem then I am more than capable of handling the problem.

They may be a nuisance to you and others but to me just animals living about 25 to 30 yards from my house and rarely get close to the house.

Again its not that he is trapping and shooting his groundhogs but he is doing it on my property in direct violation to my request. This is about respect for my property line and what I see fit, not him! Anybody with a good size piece of property should understand. Mine isn't all that much but it means a lot to me to have it respected.
