p.s. how loud did the shot sound to you? I found that although the shot under such circumstances should be extraordinarily loud, it really isn't --or at least it doesn't bother you.

That's not what you're thinking about in the seconds after such an incident happens.
Not as load as I would have thought. I did have a slight headache afterwards but not sure the concussive blast inside the room is to blame or not.

He got his gun from his safe. I keep most of my guns at his house because he has a safe and I don't. I don't know exactly what happened with the trigger pull or why it was loaded I was looking in the safe.

You need to ask to make sure you don't do it yourself. Maybe the gun is faulty and you'll inherit it. Always ask the how.

well it's hard for him to eat Skittles or regular M&Ms because they keep falling through the hole. The peanut M&Ms are too wide diameter to fit thru, so he's OK with them...

but I would've expected that the hot gas coming out behind the bullet would've blown his hand apart even if the metal projectile itself doesn't cause that much damage. But I guess the 380 ACP is a low enough chamber pressure round that by the time the bullet exited that 3 inch barrel the pressure had dissipated enough.
Lol!
Yes a 9mm or .357 JHP round would have done a lot more damage for sure.

Glad no one was hurt.
I've been in a small room when a gun was discharged and even though my ears rang afterwards I don't remember hearing the actual gunshot.

The same principle applies to hunting I think. I've never had my ears ring and I don't really remember hearing the gunshot when shooting a deer. Adrenaline is a funny thing.

I bought a canik then proceeded to put one through the previous owners picture window. I followed the "dont point at people part". Windows aren't people.
