Your friend needs to pay to have it redone…and buy you another prelock smith. He knocked the value by half atleast.
Honestly, you could do this yourself, probably have most everything at home other than the rust blue solution. It's sort of fun. Brownell's makes a classic rust blue, it will blend in better than you think.
I had it done by Bruce Weeks. Not the original blue blueing but it’ll hold up. I may have it redone later to the original style blueing. This is a family piece that will never get sold so I’m not worried about the value and more so keeping it alive for generations.
