Looks like a k-98 in 8mm. I shot my first deer with one in 1979. Nice rifle. The "crisp 100 dollar bill" is probably 75 bucks on the short side, lol.

If I had to take a guess I'd say it's a WW1 era 8mm German Mauser. Unless it's been re-barreled. But it does not look like it.

have mauser gone down in worth or some thing i rember last winter i was looking at yogo ww2 mauser and they wanted 250 for it i would figer if it is really greman it be worth at lest hafe what the ww2 ones are

mauser value depend a lot on matching serial numbers and intact markings.
