Need a new chainsaw and rather not take a second mortgage out...

Just got a Husqvarna at Northern this last weekend for $169 ...reman, 39cc engine, 18" bar n chain...30 day satisfaction guarantee. Good saw...for light/med yard and firewood.

edit: I was on the same track as u Geaux...mine died last year...was looking and found mine in the HUSQ...mine is factory reman though. I think you will like what you got fine ! They are good saws

Stihls are awesome...McCullough, I had one for 17-18 yrs before it died...carb shot...., first Husqvarna I've had in the chainsaw though....I've heard more good than bad. You are correct too...you get what you pay for.

Good choice! I was going to recommend a Husky due to ease of finding parts(Lowes/TSC,etc 7 days a week) & IMO...they are just as reliable as a Stihl. I've owned several of the cheaper saws & if you don't use 'em much..they'll last a while. I own a Stihl 290 now,but wish I'd gone Husky...matter of fact...several of the loggers I know are going back to Husky for the same reason & they claim that the Stihls are galling up crankshafts(turning the saw into scrap) due to the oil pump being a crappy design+ failing/clogging. I'll take the advice of folks that use the equipment everyday..over hyped up advertising anytime:).

Ethanol is known to cause that issue as well.

I had a Craftsman (poulan) 18" since 1998. If finally gave up on me. I bought a new 20" Husky on Ebay. Brand new and saved $75. I wanted the last chainsaw I will ever own. I think I have it. It went through some huge hickory logs like it was butter. Money well spent for me.
