Cobb Fire just gave a written test... But keep an eye out, www.cobbfire.org. We will be hiring more next year and there will be plenty of vacancies in the coming years as a big group is about to retire. May not help in the short term, but it is worth the wait, been there 13 years in October. You could also take something else in the County Gov't then test next time. The seniority helps. Get away from ATL and apply for state probation jobs as well as small police departments. The world is full of liberals that fear you and think that you are a murderer because you served on the military. Flipping idiots everywhere. Job market is really tough right now. Dont waste anymore money on leo education unless it is for a law degree.

I am on the north side of Atlanta. It's a bit far for a job the probably doesn't pay a lot and I don't think I have a lot of interest in. But I respect the people that are willing to do it.

Yes I could, but sometimes its an act of congress to get back in. And I would have to get back into shape and I don't know if my body can take that type of use anymore, getting old. If I did I would want to go into the Warrant Officer program.

I may have to move to DC, but that means not seeing the wife. She is a teacher and needs to stay here for the next 2yrs to get 20k of here student loans paid off.

You know I am really starting to wonder if military serves is hurting from getting a job. Looking into the State probation officer jobs, there is an opening in Marietta I might try for. Any thoughts on that? Yeah, it really suck all 3 of my degrees don't mean S***! Same with military serves.

Don't think that at all! I know alot of business's are pushing for adding "vets" because of what it shows! Alot of the kids have degrees with no experience outside a classroom! Keep your chin up, it'll work out!

If by moving you could begin a career and make enough to justify forfeiting the reimbursement for loans it may be worth it.
