Need help identifying these pest

Permethrin will kill all pests. Even cats. These requires a plural after it. I know. I'm sorry. My Mother was an english teacher.

...and the thread gets creepy.
And I can't tell what the bugs are, but we had 2 Chinaberry trees in our yard when I was a kid and small orange-ish bugs would drop off of. I first noticed them on a peanut butter sandwich I was eating...so those bugs were evidently safe for human consumption.

You can crush them with a ball peen hammer; and they won't come back.
