Need help valuing a Garand

Friend of mine wants to sell his grandfather's M1 Garand. Asked me to come up with pricing. He knows nothing about guns. Springfield receiver and barrel. Has cleaning kit. Light rust on the barrel band.
Has some lube, has not been shot in 15 years, supposedly. I agreed to help him with pricing. Gunbroker is all over the place.

What year is the barrel? Should be able to see date when you pull back the op rod on the side of the rifle. Appears to be a August or September of 44 manufacture. Nice example.

Looks like a 65 replacement barrel. I have one and she shoots great!

The stock looks like a replacement. It's too nice to be a war time stock. Super color and grain.
