Need ideas for a mailbox post

I made my dad one when he was Fire Chief, I bought for $20 an old fire plug from the city and welded a frame for the box on top and the box I built at a metal shop I worked at and it was a Fire Truck complete with welded on ladders and the front end opened for the mailman to insert mail. The 4ft stem of the plug was cemented in the ground, a car hit it once and all that did was scratch ithe fire trucks paint, but the car was almost totaled.
