Need recommendation for a good scotch

Got a family member coming to visit and would like to have a good bottle of scotch on hand. I’m not a scotch drinker so I’m lost on this one. Would like a quality bottle in the $50 to $75 price range if that’s possible.

I would suggest a good single malt scotch like Oban. It is right around your price range and, in my opinion, worth the money

I have drank a few bottles of Old Pulteney which is very reasonable and a good single malt.

Oban as was mentioned is great.

Macallan 10 it 12 is my standard, Glenmorangie 10+
Either of these are solid and a safe option.
If you are a Costco member, the ones with a liquor store will have 2 or 3 choices in that range

He will prolly have more fun with a great big bottle of Famous Grouse.

He’ll have to be polite and pace himself if you buy one fifth of a nice single malt.

I love Oban.
For variety, Lagavulin is excellent. Laphroig is good too.

Monkey Shoulder is cheaper stuff at around $35 a bottle, but very smooth and good flavor.

Oban is a Scotch any Scotch drinker will enjoy.

Can't go wrong with Glenlivet 18 year old. It's around $100. And I don't even drink anymore.
