Need some help with ar15 upper....

Btw i figure that if you have a 10.5” Barrel and carbine length gas you should have about 3.5” of dwell time. Which should be sufficient. Are you measurin or estimatin?

Post a pic of the gap between the upstream end of your gas block and your barrel. It should be about a credit card or so, or nothing, depending on your block.

Or did you just snug it up thar?

You gotta line em up both ways.

Sorry, here are some answers to other questions:

Upper is made by X-Products
Barrel is made by Faxon Firearms
Gas block made by Midwest Industries
Gas tube- Un-known maker
Nickel boron Bolt/BCG- Made by Areo Precision.

Unless you have a pin gauge set, you will have no idea if your gas port is too large or too small to an exacting degree. Calipers can ball park it, but will not be exact. Never drill your gas port. It’s either correct or you send it back if drilled way under sized. Edited due to OP clarifying/changing details: 10.5"
Barrel and carbine gas SHOULD be .071" for a gas port size pending they drilled it to proper spec.

Edited since your other response did not show on Tapatalk...

I need pictures of the barrel top and bottom by the gas port area. They need to be clear. Since the barrel went from Faxon to Al's Bargain Barn as a maker, it is a toss up if the barrel is junk and needs to be returned or not.

Forgot to add. PMC bronze is one of the least powered brass offerings you can get. Have you tried the ammo in another known reliable AR to verify you haven’t gotten a bad batch of ammo?

Again, hard to tell given the lack of details, especially when so many have thrown out under sized port but likely do not even know what it should be to start with.

Would doing a short stroke piston conversion system help? Looking at replacing the gas system with an Adam Arms Piston conversion.
No, if it will not run as a DI rifle, it will not work as a piston. The root caase has not been determined. That would just add another variable to the mix for no reason.
