Need some help

She wants to stay in the 380s she dobt like the recoil on the 9s and she wont shoot my 40. Now i have a taurus 40 and have shot probably 300 rounds through it flawlessly. I have had a problem with the trigger safety brokethey fixed it and semt it back to me but now the bluing is coming off in a spot.(being in a leather inside waist holester)

As mentioned rent or borrow one and let HER shoot it before even considering a purchase. everybody has opinions but honestly the Glock 380 and the Bersa to me sin't a pocket or pocket book gun, just a tad to large in my opinion.
I love the Bersa but tis a waist band or hip carry for me.
taurus is lets face dependable/ reliable depending soley on what day it came down the assembly line.
I at one time owned 9 taurus weapons, 5 had to be returned to the factory for repair.
the shortest repair time was 10 days the longest was 9 weeks!
the TCP was one of them requiring a new barrel, new extractor, new firing pin (striker) at under 300 rounds (think maybe they missed a few things upon inspection??)
. it now protects my safe as that's where it remains.
taurus customer service is generally the PITS! as well.
I suggest that if she can handle a manual safety to check out the Sig 238, Colt Mustang or Kimber micro, near the same size as the TCP/ LCP etc , a bit heavier but oh so sweet to shoot and reliable as a swiss watch usually.

heres a Sig 238 VS a Taurus TCP. weight is only a 3-4 ounces more as well, of course that few ounces and much better ergos makes it also a lot more comfortable to shoot and practice with.
Notice in the last picture there is a Sig 238 BEHIND the TCP.

Sig 238 followed by glock 42 for shootable and small options that are dead nuts reliable. I've shot a lot of the pocket pistols, and hate them all. The only good thing about them is how concealable they are, and that ranks a little lower than shootable in my book. My wife has no interest in guns that are hard to shoot. So I encouraged my better half to try as many as she wanted before choosing a gun for her. She still doesn't carry (working the slow game on that one) but she only enjoys an AR15, and my glock 17. And by enjoy I mean tolerate.

Biggest thing to take away from my ramblings, let her choose the gun. It will save you way more money and time to just get the gun she likes, than to buy three or four she won't touch more than once. Only plus side is you get 4 more guns, which ain't a bad thing in anyone's book. But regardless, make it fun, and as low pressure a situation as possible. Or you risk running her off guns entirely.

I had my wife try a few. She liked the Sig P238. I got her the extended mag. Nice little pocket pistol. Shoots nice too. I have to admit, when I find my pants "Shrunk" too much to comfortably wear an ISW holster, I take her pistol.

The Bersa is about the same size as many pocket (as they call them ) 9 MM, like the Shield, taurus 709, single line Glock.
the problem many times with the bersa (and I personally really like the weapon) is the stout recoil spring and a ladies /older persons ability to rack the slide.
Again enter the Sig 238 thats the easiest 380 to rack that I own by far, thanks to nice machining and a flat wire recoil spring and the tilt barrel operation.
course the Sig, Colt & Kimber one has to be comfortable with single action and thumb safety.

Easy to rack really is more about leverage than how tight a spring is, I've had several ladies come through classes thinking they couldn't do it, and with the right method, they end up racking notoriously tough pistols (looking at you shield 9mm) with ease. And many of these ladies had arthritis.

I love me some CZ's, but I like a rear sight with a shelf on any carry gun, mitigates that issue
