Need some optics suggestions!

Cabelas has the Bushnell Elite 4200 3X9X40 on sale right now for less than $200. I have one and it is the best riflescope I've ever owned. I also have a Nikon Prostaff 3X9X40 and it doesn't compare to the Bushnell.

I also recommend going with the 40mm objective over the 50. If you spend the money on good glass, a good 40 will gather as much light as a mediocre 50.

Yea, I'm starting to rethink the 50. I had a little "fever" for the 50 but it's quickly fading after doing more research. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

I like Vortex as well even their crossfire models are better than other brands at the same cost.

in my opinion good mounting and most of the scopes will perform well. Get good quality mounts for starts.
