Need some redneck engineering advice

Man I appreciate that I actually just got a new truck. I'll have to check the hitch rating. That carrier is good for 400lbs right?

I just did 600 miles with a 450 pound bike, also took my BMW to Florida over 600 miles and about 500 pounds

All over the East coast. Road Atlanta was last month. This month is Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. A fun, technical track with lots of long sweeping curves. Head down and knee out through the apex!

On this jet ski trailer and take it home from Alabama to Georgia.

What do you guys think is the best way to do that? I'm thinking about bolting a piece of channel steel in the center of the trailer using the existing axle as a midsection support. Put the front wheel right up against the post and then use a few ratchet straps to keep it locked in place. It's a Suzuki GSX-R 600 race bike that only weighs ~360lbs. Do I need to get bigger wheels and tires for the trailer to take it that far?

Do you have a friend with an enclosed motorcycle trailer like for a Harley?

That's to nice a bike to chance rigging it to some redneck contraption and have it go spilling all over the HWY and you end up with a pile of metal.

One of my young guys in the Navy took his crotch rocket to a race track in Jacksonville FL, He wore all the safety gear to include the jacket with hard shell back protection. He was doing 130mph and lost it in a turn. He remembers hitting the pavement and waking up in the hospital. A couple weeks later he went to go see his bike at the tow yard. He stated it was unrecognizable. A pile of metal and plastic. He fully recovered.

Look up N2 track days. It's not technically "racing" but it's free to come watch. And the guys in the advanced group definitely put on a good show. 100+mph wheelies and knees sliding across the pavement all day long

It's not the bike in the picture but the same kind of bike. The one that I'm buying isn't quite as nice but I still don't want it to go sliding down the pavement if I can help it

I hate to hear about stories like that but the truth is, it's exciting because it's dangerous. You can't have one without the other. Track days are still much safer than riding on the street. As long as you are a competent rider and stay within your limits you will probably be fine. However you know the risks when you get on the bike. We didn't come here to play golf.
