Need suggestions on 30-30 powder

I was given a box of "True Shot" 170 gr lead flat nose that I am anxious to try. I'll likely start out using IMR 3031 powder and see how that works.

I use accurate 2320, but that is with 150gr.

varget and/or precission rifle is the only way to go in the 30-30. unless you sre shooting cast lead/plated bullets, then i would use buffalo rilfe or 5744 powder. with the 160 gr bullet i would drop 33.5 grs of either powder and test for grouping/speed. i use a 170 gr fp serria bullet in a 24 inch marlin 336cb for nra lever action silhouette matches. i drop 33.5 grs of either varget (2,188 fps) or precission rifle (2,174 fps). at the 200 meters ram line this load give me just a little over one inch off the bench if i do my part. we shoot standing non supporting with open sight during the matches.
